Does anyone actually watch house of payne
What wrong with Uncle Curtis? Not enough Calvin. And Uncle Curtis is just mean and I know that he was kinda like that before but he use to joke around by being mean but to me now he is just a mean person for a example when Malik and Ella was locked out of the house the old Curtis would joke around about not opening the door and then he would open it but … Read more ».
I love the show. Robert Hardeman CJ son pregnant girlfriend mess up the show, she needs to be written out. He was raised better in his role he has grown up with to have better. It takes too long to make a point and Curtis is too silly, he never says anything serious or kind. Is Curtis and Ella going to stay high the entire seasons. Come on writers you are more creative than this. You getting stale. Love this show first season from couple years ago not same getting old tv show need to end.
Never knew it was still on air use really funny. Love new show Assisted Living Tyler Perry after it super funny hope it get renewed another season. Home News Cancelled or Renewed? Next Post ». Inline Feedbacks. There were comments about how this show does not reflect well upon the community. Personally, I have plenty of relatives who act like the people on that show. They're human beings.
They get mad. They make mistakes. They get loud. And they get over it. They wouldn't reflect well upon the community at times either. But man oh man, what stories I could tell you. Don't know why this show is still on?
It's not funny at all. G-Joshua-Benjamin 30 May I got the first season from amazon right after Christmas of I watched the first episode and didn't really like it. I was going to sell it. I decided to give it a second chance, and I am glad that I did. The show is based on the life of the Payne family. You get to see all the things that happen to them in their lives. It almost makes you feel like your watching a real family. Episodes make you laugh, cry and get angry.
They deal with real issues. I was really surprised to see the review of this show. I think this show takes getting used to. It is almost like a play. It has a weird feel to it.
I know there are some who will give up and not care. But if you stick with it, you may just find a great show that feels like a TV classic.
This is one of the worst sitcoms I have ever seen in my whole life. I could not make it through one whole episode. It is not funny at all and has stupid predictable plots.
I'm usually a huge fan of Tyler Perry's work but not this one. This show is painful to watch. I can not believe it is still running because of how bad it is. I haven't heard one person say they liked this show ever. Every other person I've talked to has agreed with me that the show is terrible.
Take my advice and don't watch this show, it's really not worth it and won't give you any laughs whatsoever. I think Tyler Perry needs to just stick to his plays and movies and maybe come up with something new for a change. Back when this show first came out in , the format and characters seemed to be written much better.
After watching the first episode of the latest season 9 , it only made me miss the shows early format even more. The endless and overly drawn out chats between the characters standing or sitting in the exact same spots. Always talking about the exact same subject for far too many minutes. The lack of charm, wit and well-written personalities from the earlier seasons caused me to stop watching season9 already.
The more frequently changing plots. Ah well, it's rare for something that comes out so long after the original; 14 years in this case, to be as captivating and great as it was in the beginning. I am glad for all the people able to enjoy it. Simply sad to say that it only makes me sad House of Payne is an enjoyable show with all different types of Character personality's.
I can relate to a lot of the story lines on the show, and it offers realistic situations. Despite these good things, in the few final season the writing was a little off, and I found Myself irritated with nearly every Character. The show should have ended after it's 6th season with a final episode that would have satisfied viewers, this was supposed to be a family comedy, not a soap opera!
There really isn't much to say about the show, it is not terrible like everyone makes it out to be though I can tell You that, but it does have it's weak points like every show. When it first came on it started slow but picked up the pace, it's strong point was the middle seasons, but by the end it was just like the beginning, weak. With all of that being said I would recommend this show to anybody who is looking for entertainment or a good laugh.
I mean, I hate him. But I love him!! How can you not keep your eyes off the man? He's something. He's rude, sweet, unreasonable, reasonable, hilarious, obnoxious, giving, stingy, committed, irresponsible. The man's got a certain kind of charisma. And he stays there, he doesn't leave.
And that makes this show like comfort food. There are a LOT of problems with this show, which is one of its main strengths, if you ask me. The problems ensure that there's still stuff left to work out, and I get the sense that they will. I love it that it's set in Atlanta. Love to hear "Lake Lanier. I'm not African American, and I'm not from Atlanta, but nearby.
The show often leaves me scratching my head but I always watch it. I don't have TBS, I see it on local channels in the midAtlantic, and the episodes are not run in order, exactly, but it doesn't matter. What is not believable is that they'd have that skinny a son. Whenever I watch this show, I'm in my house in actual Pain.
Heck when any TV in my house is tuned on this show, the foundation is in severe pain moaning from the jokes and the humor carried through the power surges.
Anyway we get this show where we have this family who lives in a suburban neighborhood in Atlanta,Ga. Where in Atalnta? Then we have Ella Payne, the female of the household who waddles like the penguins black sister from Batman Returns and speaks with a very bad lisp. Then we have Gen. Pain originally the son in the first test of this show, but since it was dark, they gave us this lighter version which is still bad where he is the nephew who gets angry.
Then we have the wife Genine who looks old enough to be his daughter. Then Calvin, the son of the first Gen. Then you have gen 3 Who consists of Malik, a fat bastard, Jasmine the little girl and two babies no one cares about.
Anyway this show is horrible, the jokes are awful, the dialog is mind numbingly painful and the stories are so far fetched that they just give black buffoonery a whole new name and as a 20 year old black man, it pisses me off.
The jokes are horrible, for example one joke goes " You so poor you thought a quarterback was a refund" wow that's original you gotta be kidding me I heard this joke when I was three, so whenever he wants to do a comedy sketch, give him the cane. Thinking of such, the plots are predictable and so melodramatic it takes sit to a whole other level called the sit yo butt down and rewrite this mess com. As usual the show starts with some character development though that does nothing since the character suck butt Then out of the bloom the buffoonery starts.
Someone's either pregnant, on drugs, fighting their parents or someone is cheating with some ugly baby mama, daddy or assumes this. Next we either have some over the top drama where Malik will fight C. J his father then get scared if he hits him, what a douche.
Then Jasmine is nosy and man they need to lay her out with a belt because she is so annoying. Then Genine Then there's Calvin the womanizer who get with women for booty, then he marries Rudy the hooker and we are tormented by his bad acting, my god the horror. Then comes Ella and her prune looking best friend Urethra, yes she is named Pee as they talk about things we don't care about watching Ella wattle to the door saying Shabbily is very disturbing.
Then finally the buffoon of the clan Curtis is a loud mouth whinnying buffoon who yells at thing, slap kids and runs around the house like Forrest Gump with a stick in his butt and this is why people think black people act like this and trust me,this is far from the truth.
Do yourself a favor don't watch and if you watch, write Perry a letter telling him to give up or shut up. Somehow Uncle Curtis has gone from a funny foil to a chauvinist s. His character isn't funny anymore.
Just outdated. Malik and Jazmine have good comedy together. Everyone around him is being given better material. This is a very disappointing depiction of a character who deserves better. I hope this show comes back it was hilarious Tyler Perry did a good job on this show Curtis was very funny Bring this show Back!!!! I've watched this show a couple times, and each time I thought the punchline was the show itself, not actually any of the jokes in the show.
The show plays like a "MAD-TV" sketch that is a parody of bad sitcoms, but as you watch this further, you realize that what your watching is an actual sitcom meant to be funny on its own merits. Normally, humor of this level is on Nickelodeon or Disney Channel and for children, but I think this show is actually meant for adults and sober ones at that.
The only way you can tell something is supposed to be funny is when the laugh track plays, otherwise I wouldn't even know this was meant to be a comedy. I haven't seen any of Tyler Perry's movies, but they've done well at the box office and have gotten pretty good reviews. Has he seen this show? Does he realize they're using his name to promote it? If you enjoy this show, have you ever watched a sitcom before?
This show must be seen to be believed. I hesitate to even call it awful, because I haven't gotten to the point where I even comprehend what I've seen yet.
If this show is for real, Tyler Perry needs to sit down in quiet room somewhere and contemplate his career and what he hopes to accomplish, because if this is the kind of work he is proud of, he needs to consider a career change. I saw commercials and previews for this show on TBS. I had never seen Tyler Perry's comedy and it never appealed to me.
House of Payne did not look that funny from the commercials but I thought I would give it a shot. Well I watched a few episodes and I can truly say that this show is terrible.
First of all, its just not funny. I never laughed once. It is unbelievable how not funny this show is. The writing is horrendous. The so called jokes in the script are overplayed and over the top. I honestly don't think puns are that low of a form of humor, but that was just a poor attempt to get a laugh. The acting is atrocious! Some of the worst that I have seen on TV. The grandfather and grandmother are trying too hard to be wacky old grandparents.
The actor who plays the dad is unimpressive. The son is the usual teen who always gets in trouble and learns a lesson. All the actors and actresses do a terrible job of giving their lines. Its like watching a high-school play. It seems like they are just reading a script a poor script.
The acting is totally unrealistic. I also hate the storyline and content which you see when you watch House of Payne. Tyler Perry says that he is trying people to relate to his show.
Well my mother is not a crack-head and my father does not have an illegitimate daughter. CSM doesn't have the common sense to update it's review. The show has actually made a lot of decent changes. The "What parents need to know" section is outdated as well because Janine has recovered and is now a PR rep for the city's fire department. The "What's the story? Very misleading. Parent of a 6-year-old Written by daKillah August 28, Best series ever, my man Tyler Perry does it again.
None like a Payne man! Adult Written by mahilana July 28, Don't waste your time The show could have some good messages to the viewer, however, it seems like they're trying too hard to be funny.
The show touches on subjects that don't really come around children unless they're living under a bridge in Compton. The language of the characters isn't bad but it's basically ghetto slang that I feel will only make someone look uneducated if they spoke that way.
I've watched this show a few times to give it a shot plus love Tyler Perry movies so I thought the show would be good but I didn't laugh once and it was hard to stay interested.
Overall, bad show with bad comedy and bad topics. Only watch it if there is absolutely nothing else on. This title contains: Language. Parent of a year-old Written by toocool October 22, I knows wath it needs.
Adult Written by Eyewitness December 8, Poor Writing Unfortunately, this is some of the worst writing I have ever been exposed to.
The plot is non-existent. There is no definable story line. The character development is shallow leading one to believe that the story is being written by sixth graders.
The humor is juvenile, the scenes are choppy, the dialogue is fragmented, the actors do not come across as real characters and the soundtrack is weak and incongruent with the imagery of the filming. Adult Written by Hasana April 9, Jim Crow hits a new low I tried a couple of times to sit down and watch TPHP and couldn't get past the first commercial break. This is show depicts cooning at its finest.
I am embarassed to see black people huff, shuck n' jive on national tv. The worst part is the jokes aren't funny at all and the storyline is unoriginal and not to mention the acting is a bit "iffy". I discourage any from watching this modern day black face comedy.
Adult Written by sfap April 9, The uncle on the show really gets on my nerves. Adult Written by angela7 April 9, I was dispointed in the show. Adult Written by chauna April 9, I love Madea I thought the first two episodes were great! I love Madea and Brown. I have seen all the plays, movies and read the book and I have never been disappointed yet.
